The Plateau State Government has commended the Plateau State Police Command for her swift apprehension of a suspect involved in the attempted robbery of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Dadin Kowa, Jos on Monday 13th May, 2024.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Honorable Commissioner for Information and Communications Ibrahim Musa Ashoms on Thursday 16th May 2024 and made available to journalists in Jos. The statement notes that the incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and collaboration in maintaining security within Plateau State.

The statement notes that “The act of this individual, a student by some accounts, is deeply concerning. And in light of this ugly event, we urge parents and guardians to closely monitor the activities of their children and wards and to instill in them the values of honesty and integrity, which this state is known for. We must work together to prevent such occurrences in the future.”
“The Plateau State Government under the outstanding leadership of His Excellency Barrister Caleb Mutfwang remains resolute in its commitment to collaborating with security agencies and communities to combat all forms of criminal activity.” he adds.
“Government will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure the safety and security of all residents.”
The statement concludes that “The attempted robbery highlights the potential dangers associated with youth involvement in crime. The Plateau State Government is committed to addressing the root causes of crime through various initiatives, including educational programs and social development projects.”
The Plateau State Government urged all citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest law enforcement agency, adding that “Together, we can build a safer and more secure Plateau State for everyone.”
