The Plateau Inter-Faith Dialogue (PID) which held in Jos on Tuesday 7th May 2024 has recommended that intending Religious Clerics and Practicing Religious Clerics and students take Peace Building Courses in order to guarantee that their utterances and actions foster peace and harmonious living in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.

This was proposed by Amb Salis Abdulsalami while contributing in a Panel Discussion on the ‘Role of State and Non-State Actors in Promoting Freedom of Religion and Beliefs (FORBS)’. Amb Salis highlighted the importance of also teaching pupils from the primary school level in order to build in them genuine concern for humanity, tolerance and harmonious living with persons of divergent religious beliefs.

The event was Hosted by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor of Plateau State on Inter-Religious Matters Rev Steven Dangana, Special Adviser to the Governor of Plateau State on Peacebuilding Dr Julia Sanda and Search for Common Ground at Crispan Hotel, Jos.

There was a Keynote address by the JNI Chairman Plateau State Branch and the Emir of Wase His Royal Highness Alh (Dr.) Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, and an address by the Country Director, Search for Common Grounds Nigeria, Mrs Fatima Abubakar.
