“Government House Chapel to Unite the Body of Christ on the Plateau, the Chapel for Plateau people” – Governor Mutfwang

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Governor Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang has said that the remodelled Government House Chapel will serve as the place that will united the body of Christ in Plateau State, stressing that the focus will be Christ and not denominations. Governor Mutfwang made this known on Sunday 3rd March 2024 during the Reopening, Rededication and Commissioning of the Chapel of Grace and Chaplain, at the Government House, Rayfield, Jos.

“This Chapel is going to serve as a point of uniting the body of Christ. It is not to take place of the various assemblies where we worship. No, that is why there is not going to be morning services here except the Lord Direct Soul on a particular occasion, but not on a daily basis.”

“And even if we have to do a morning service here, it will be with the full consent of the leaders of the Church. We will not take any arbitrary decision here. So we want this to be as a Chapel for Plateau people, that God will use this Chapel to remind us again of the purpose for which He deposited us in this land.”the Governor added.

The Governor stressed the significance of Plateau to God, adding that God used people from everywhere to build the state. “And I’m glad that some of the people that God has used to build Plateau are not just so-called indigenous, but God has used people from every nook and cranny of this country to build Plateau. We therefore cannot claim exclusive rights in the sense that God will use everybody he wants to use. And there are men and women that God gave a burden concerning plateau. That the reason why some of them have lived on the plateau for decades is because God placed it in their hearts that they should dwell on the plateau, labour on the plateau, and cause the release of God’s glory of the plateau.” the Governor said.

Governor Mutfwang also said that Nigeria will benefit from the growth and develop of Plateau State adding that with the potentials of Plateau State, the State can feed Nigeria. “That the nations of the earth will benefit. I see Plateau State like the nation that God delivered to Abraham, ‘that through your nation that the nations of the earth shall be blessed’, and that through Plateau Nigeria shall be blessed. I thank God for the labours of those who have led us in the past. They have done their bit, they have done their best, and I pray that God will remember them for good.”

He called on the people of the State to move on to greater heights. “But the time has come. It’s like the Lord is telling us again. We have dwelled on this mountain for too long. It is time to move ahead. It is time to move plateau ahead. It is time to move plateau into God’s purpose and glory. It is time to move plateau to the place of the fulfilment of prophecy that the Rev Isah El’Buba referred to…”

The Guest Speaker of the event Brother Gbile Akanni built on what the Governor said, making reference to the Holy Bible in Psalm 132-133 in his expectations.

The new Chaplain Government House Chapel is Rev. Benjamin A. Nadabo. The chapel was filled to capacity with hundreds who took refuge under a large tent close to the chapel building. The event was attended by Leaders of the Church across denominations, the traditional institution, heads of security agencies, the traditional institution, top government functionaries, political appointees and the public.
