Plateau State Government Promises Structural Improvement – Better Working Environment for Plateau Specialist Hospital in 2025

The Plateau State Government has promised a better and more befitting structure for the Plateau State Specialist Hospital. This according to government will attract medical tourism from across Northern Nigeria and beyond, and will boost the state’s revenue going forward. This was disclosed by the Executive Governor of Plateau State Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang at the Maiden edition of the Plateau Specialist Hospital End of Year Get-Together and Retirees Award Night held at Zumji Event Center, Jos.

Representing the Governor, Secretary to the Government of Plateau State Arch Samuel Nanchang Jatau noted that the contributions of the over 30 retirees who took their bow from active service of the Plateau State Specialist Hospital, stressing that their retirement does not necessarily mean the end of work given that their expertise will still be required in the state.

Ealier in his welcoming remark, Chief Medical Director, Plateau Specialist Hospital Prof. Christopher Sabo Yilgwan praised the retirees for their dedication and invaluable services to the hospital, state and humanity. Prof. Yilgwan announced plans to make the celebration an annual event, extending future awards to outstanding active members of staff.

Engr Solomon Chikan had a brief session where he talked to the retirees and all present about life as a retiree. He noted with sadness how that many had civil servants had attached themselves strong to the office they occupy and after they retire they are unable to cope because life outside the office requires that you provide and add value. He urged workers generally to maintain healthy relationships while in active service ahead of their retirement.

Special prayers were offered by Prof Rev Caleb Damo for retirees and management of the Plateau State Specialist Hospital. Awards were presented to the over 30 retirees courtesy Plateau Specialist Hospital along with gifts of electrical appliances.

The event was attended by the Hon Commissioner Ministry of Health Dr Cletus Shurkuk, Vice Chancellor University of Jos Prof Ishaya Tanko, represented by Prof Esther Evuladu, CMD National Orthopedic Hospital Jos, Prof Icha Onche, Executive Secretary Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Development Agency Pharmacist Kim Bot among other high profiled individuals
