The Director of Mobilization for the Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta Region (MOSIEND) Abuja/Northern Nigeria Timi Okere has commended Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, PhD, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, for his exceptional leadership in ensuring the oil sector operates seamlessly.

Okere specifically highlighted the Minister’s significant contribution to the successful implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) in Nigeria.Okere also expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting Senator Lokpobiri with another opportunity to serve, demonstrating his confidence in the Minister’s abilities.

This move is particularly noteworthy, given the Minister’s commitment to addressing the welfare of host communities, as emphasized under the PIA and the current administration. According to Okere, the National president Mosiend, Sir Kennedy West, has been instrumental in promoting the growth of the oil sector, particularly through campaigns against oil bunkering activities in the region working with stakeholders to ensure total end to illegal bunkery activities.

These efforts have encouraged many individuals to disengage from illegal activities. Is a single reason we as junior soldiers with our capacity has to come in and support the system Okere concluded by assuring the Minister of their full support, both within and outside the region, and looks forward to seeing how the Minister will engage with them in the future, as directed by his senior Comrade Debekeme Solomon, Chairman Mosiend Abuja/Northern Nigeria.
