The Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, Hon Ayuba Salihu Musa we received by thousands of supporters who stormed Dengi Town, Headquarters of Kanam LGA on Friday 11th October 2024.
The jubilant crowd who chanted welcome songs led the Chairman in a victory parade through the heart of Dengi before leading him to the Palace of the Emir of Kanam HRH Alhaji Muhammad Babangida Mua’zu (II), where he received royal blessings and a charge to serve the people and earn himself a good name.
Thereafter he was led to the Kanam Local Government Council Secretariat in Dengi where he assumed office. He was accompanied by Honorable Commissioner, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Chief Ephraim Usman, Special Adviser to the Governor of Plateau State on Environment Hon Wokdung Abbas, party leaders, as well as serving and former leaders of the LGA.
On his part the Exective Chairman, Kanam LGC Hon Ayuba Salihu Musa pledged to do his best in the interest of the wellbeing of the people of Kanam LGA. He appreciated the royal father and the people for their support and called for more as he champions the course of the council.
The Honorable Commissioner Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Chief Ephraim Usman who spoke on behalf of the Gov Caleb Mutfwang assured the council of the support of the Governor in ensuring that development gets to the people.
Recall that the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) had declared Hon Ayuba Salihu Musa winner of the council polls in Kanam after securing majority of the lawful votes 71,946, to defeat the APC candidate who scored APC 29,874.
