Vote of Confidence passed on PLASIEC over The Conduct of the Local Government Elections

The Coalition of Nigerian Youths for Good Governance (CNYGG) has expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the just concluded Local Government Elections in Plateau State, and has also passed a Vote of Confidence on the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC).

In a statement issued by the group’s leader Prince Miaphen in Jos on Friday 11th October 2024, the group also commended the PLASIEC Chairman, Mr. Plangji Cishak, for the successful conduct of the local government elections on November 10, 2024.

After closely observing the entire electoral process, CNYGG acknowledges that PLASIEC delivered on its promise of free, fair, and credible elections. The results, which saw candidates from various political parties winning councilorship seats across the 17 local government areas, reflect the transparency and fairness of the process.

CNYGG urges other state electoral bodies to emulate the exemplary leadership of PLASIEC, noting that the exercise reflects the essence of grassroots democracy. The group also commended the Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for supporting PLASIEC’s independence throughout the election.

CNYGG extends congratulations to all elected candidates and looks forward to the implementation of local government autonomy recently granted by the Tinubu administration, hoping it will bring about governance that prioritizes the needs of the people.
