The Eyewei (V) of Azzuzzuama, Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State, His Royal Highness Dr Selky Kile Torughedi (a.k.a General Young Shall Grow) has called on Nigerian Youths in general, and Niger Delta Youths in particular not to loose focus in pursuing their dreams. This, according to the monarch, is the only way to ensure that they achieve meaningfully well in their days of youth, despite the current challenges.
HRH Dr Selky made this known in a statement in Abuja on Monday, 12th August 2024, in commemoration of the 2024 United Nations International Youths Day. HRH Dr Selky while acknowledging the recent protests across the country over hunger and hardship however warned the Youths against being used as agents of destabilization, while calling for patience for the actualization of the results of government policies.
Speaking on the theme for the International Youths Day, 2024 which is “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.”, Dr Selky stressed that Nigeria still has the potential of leading the whole of Africa in ICT Innovations. He encouraged the youths to use the available ICT skills to empower themselves in other to equip themselves for the emerging global economy.
