“Remember that you hold the power to shape your own future and make a difference in the world” ~ HRH Dr Selky Kile Torughedi tells FCT Children

Philanthropist and Monarch, His Royal Highness Dr Selky Kile Torughedi, the Amanenawei of FCT Abuja and the Eyewei the 5th of Azzuzuama, Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State has reminded children of the personal power and potentials they individual have within them to shape their own future and make a difference in the World.

HRH Dr Selky made this known on Monday 27th May 2024 will delivering his goodwill message at the Children’s Day Celebration in Abuja, organized by the African Youth Commission in partnership with the Office of the Executive Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

In his message HRH Dr Selky said that theme of the celebration which is to ‘Promote inclusivity: Ensure that all Children regardless of background have equal opportunities and access to education and free healthcare’ is germane to nation building. Adding in how own words that “As parents, it is our duty and responsibility to nurture, instill discipline, and promote equality amongst our children for a better future.”

While commending the children HRH Dr Selky urged them to believe in themselves and their potentials and never let anyone discourage them from achieving their dreams. “To our beautiful and awesome children, this special day is dedicated to you. Remember that you hold the power to shape your own future and make a difference in the world. Each one of you is unique, with talents and dreams that are waiting to be realized. Never let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve something.”

He encouraged them to confront their challenges, learn from their mistakes and always strive to be the best version of themselves. He prayed for them to excel and change the World, while urging them to honor their parents so that their days will be long on earth. “You have the strength, courage, and potential to change the world. Stand up for what is right, be kind to others, and never stop dreaming big.”

“You are the leaders, thinkers, and innovators of tomorrow. Believe in yourself and work hard to turn your dreams into reality. We also celebrate the boundless energy, creativity, and joy that you bring into our lives.”

“I repeat, always believe in yourself and remember that anything is possible with determination and hard work. Most importantly, honour your father and mother so that your days may be long on earth and take your studies seriously.”

“May your days be filled with laughter, learning, and endless adventures. Keep shining bright and making the world a better place with your unique gifts and smiles.”

In his concluding words, HRH Dr Selky thanked the organizers of the event for a job well done, while also lavishly celebrating the dancers, the Girl Guide and the Spelling Bee Participants. In his own words he said “To the Gbagiyi dancers, you have shown talent. Your troupe is worthy of commendation. Please keep it up. To the Fulani troupe, your dancing steps and the display of your cultural heritage is fantastic. Keep it up.”

“To the Nigerian Girls Guide Association, your message to the world about voice against violence to make changes speaks volume. It is a sound of hope for the girl and boy child. You are highly appreciated.”

“To the spelling Bee participants, you have shown your spelling and pronunciation skills. You have done well.”

“To all the dancers, Tecno, Arume, Nana berry, and Saint Donald foundation. Thank you so much. To the AMAC queens, you are cute and gorgeous. Keep it up.”

HRH Dr Selky, earlier in his message recognized the AMAC Chairman Hon Christopher Zakka Maikalanku, the President, Wives of FCT Traditional Rulers Association, Her Royal Highness Hauwa Kulu Ibrahim, the USAID Consultant Dr Nihinlola Mabogunje and Princess Mrs Hauwa Philip Aduda, Wife of the Distinguished Senator Philip Aduda.
