The Plateau State Government has announced plans to launch the much anticipates Jos Metro Bus Service on Tuesday May 7th 2024. This according to the government followed the receipt of fifteen (15) diesel buses procured by the Plateau State Government.
This was disclosed by the Honorable Commissioner for Transport, Mr Davou Jatau during the 2024 Monthly Ministerial Press Briefing organized by the Plateau State Ministry of Information and Communications, held at the Conference Hall, Ministry of Education, Joseph Gomwalk Secretariat, Jos on Friday 26th May 2024.
Mr Jatau also informed that the Plateau State Government was not the reason for the delay in the commencement of Train Service, stressing that government has paid 100% of her obligations to the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), adding that the hitches and delays are as a result of issues on the part of the NRC which according to him will be resolved soon.
Mr Jatau also said that plans were on the way to automate Tricycle registrations and operation with the state to enable easy tracking and tracing of persons who would use tricycles to commit crime and other offences. He called on tricycle owners to be mindful of the type of persons they lease their property to, stressing that if such persons commit crime, the consequences will be meted on both the tricycle riders and the others.
