Beautiful Gate Handicapped People’s Center, FAAN hailed by Mission For The Vulnerable and Displaced Citizens for stance against KFC’s Discrimination of person with disability


Recall that there was audible public outcry over an alleged incident of discrimination at Lagos Airport Branch of KFC, KFC Nigeria has apologized to Adebola Daniel, the son of former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Gbenga Daniels. The fast-food chain had in a statement expressed deep regret over the distress caused and pledged to address the issue squarely.


Adebola Daniel had shared his experience on Social Media, highlighting an alleged action of discrimination he suffered due to his physical disability.

Reacting to the development, The Mission for the Vulnerable and Displaced Citizens (MIVUDI-Citizens), a registered charity led by Nashak Daya, has applauds the strong advocacy efforts of the Beautiful Gates Foundation. According to him, their voice, led by the Executive Director of Beautiful Gate, Chief Ayuba Burki Gufwan, was instrumental in bringing this incident to public attention.

MIVUDI-Citizens also commended the swift and decisive action taken by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), adding that by shutting down the KFC outlet, FAAN sent a clear message of non-tolerance to all shades of discrimination against persons of all social classes at the airport.

This action according to MIVUDI-Citizens alongside the advocacy of the Beautiful Gates Foundation, undoubtedly played significant role in holding KFC accountable.

While MIVUDI-Citizens applauds KFC’s apology and commitment to inclusion training, they urge the company to ensure such incidents never reoccur. Furthermore, MIVUDI-Citizens advocates for the broader principle of equity, equallity and equal treatment for all, regardless of ability or disability.
