Beautiful Gate Handicap People’s Center calls on President Tinubu to actualize the promises made in the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’

The Executive Director of the Beautiful Gate Handicap People’s Center, Chief Ayuba Burki Gufwan has reminded the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration to actualize all the promises contained in the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ in order to reduce the suffering of the masses and also ensure that persons living with disabilities are carried along as promised.

Chief Burki made this call during a Constituency Empowerment event organized by the Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly and Member Representing Dass State Constituency, Alhaji Ahmed Abdulahi (Babangida Manager) on Sunday 24th March 2024 in Dass, Bauchi State.

Chief Burki handed over 100 Tricycle-wheelchairs and 20 walking sticks donated by the Beautiful Gate Handicap People’s Center for distribution to persons living with disability in the Dass State Constituency.

In his opening remark, Chief Burki commended Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Alhaji Ahmed Abdulahi (Babangida Manager) for his tenacity, steadfastness and persistence in lobbying and ensuring that persons with disabilities in his constituency got the tricycle-wheelchairs, while also urging him to use his office as Deputy Speaker to ensure that handicap friendly laws and policies are passed.

Chief Burki also commended other public office holders who attended the event to ensure that people with disabilities are carried along in government programs and policies which according to him should take cognizance of the plights and needs of persons living with disabilities.

While addressing beneficiaries, Chief Ayuba Burki charged them to use the tricycle-wheelchairs to start a business, learn a vocation or go to school in order to become independent and useful members of the society, while stressing that disability is not the kiss of death. He noted that the era of dependence on family and friends for survival was over, hence the need to empower persons living with disabilities with mobility in order to make them self sufficient.

Responding, the Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Alhaji Ahmed Abdulahi (Babangida Manager) thanked the Beautiful Gate Handicap People’s Center for their benevolence and changed the beneficiaries to show gratitude by making sure that the tricycle-wheelchairs are put to productive use, while promising to do more for his Constituents.
