Former Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Nora Ladi Daduut has felicitated with Nigerian women as they celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Jos, Senator Daduut said “I salute Her Excellency Sen. Oluremi Tinubu CON.the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all women folk on this great International Women’s Day.”
According to the statement ” As we celebrate this day I call on Women to remain resilient, focused and dedicated to our duties towards our families and our Nation.”
“We are patient Nation Builders with great minds, passionate to move the Nation forward in order to live in peace and harmony to the glory of God. “
Daduut described the theme of the 2024 International Women’s Day, “Invest in women: Accelerate progress,” as crucial in ensuring a promising future for girls.
She said the first lady Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu is already working hard to better the lives of women in the country .
The former Federal Lawmaker further said “I must commend Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu for putting into motion her pledge to support the cause of Nigerian women through the launch of the “No Woman No Nation”, renewed hope, a women empowerment initiative as this is in line with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda of empowering women across the country.
Daduut the first female Senator from Plateau who is an advocate of women participation in politics said “Our women also deserve support and encouragement to participate without discrimination in governance and public affairs in general.”
Senator Daduut also described Nigerian women as hardworking, patriotic, resilient, and committed to selfless service for the nation’s growth and productivity.
