The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang sworn-in New Special Advisers, with the charge to them to join hands to create wealth, given the grave economic situation of Nigeria as a country.

The Governor made this known on Monday 4th March 2024 during the swearing-in ceremony of 22 special Advisers at the Banquet Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

“Of course the attitude in our client where you get an appointment they say you have made it, but can I inform you that you have come in the season of poverty, so it means we must join hands together to create wealth.”

He reiterated his stance on the fact that governance must be attended to at the end of electioneering, adding that despite diverge political parties between the State and the Federal Government, he had to speak the truth to his people.  “We are at a very difficult juncture in the history of this country and I am an advocate that after election you forget politics and face governance. And even though the federal government is being led by a party other than my own, I owe you the duty to tell Nigerians the truth that this government inherited a worse situation than 1999.” He said.

The Governor enumerated the economic woes of Nigeria, while linking the recent looting of Warehouses in the Abuja , the Nation’s capital as the summary of the problem im the country. “This government inherited an economy where we simply printed money up to the tune of N30 trillion and shared. This government inherited an economy where the crude oil we were yet to take out of the ground had been sold in advance. So when you’re talking about the fall of the Naira is not rocket science. We sold our future under the last administration. No wonder you’re hearing of riots today, people intercepting food on the way. We are lucky on the Plateau.

The Governor called on citizens irrespective of economic and other backgrounds to join in the enterprise of Agriculture, stressing that it proves opportunity to feed the populis in the state and Nigeria at large. He challenge appointees to be innovative in order to create economic prosperity where the entire state and Nation will benefit.
