The Plateau State Youth Council through the Office of the Public Relations Officer has announced plans to hold a One-Day Sensitization and Trauma Healing Summit for the youths of Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Mangu and Bokkos LGAs. The event will hold in collaboration with the Military Special Task Force code named ‘Operation Safe Haven’, and the Plateau State Ministry for Youths and Sports Development.
This initiative according to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Council Comrade Walshak Kumwen on Monday 12th February 2024 is in view of the Prevailing security challenges in Mangu, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi and parts of Riyom LGA.
The event has the theme ‘Robust and Result-Oriented Collaboration among the Youths, Security Agencies and the Government; a sine quanon for achieving Peace and Security’ is expected to among others things bring together all Youths of the affected LGAs across ethno-religious and political backgrounds to an intense discussion and deliberation on how best to achieve lasting peace and veritable solution to the security challenge in the four local governments.
The statement further states that the event is scheduled to hold on Saturday 17th February 2024, by 12 Noon at Vopye Resort, Barkin Ladi LGA.
